Bansur is a Town, located in Alwar on the National Delhi – Ajmer Express Highway 48 in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is the administrative headquarters of the Alwar (new district Kotputli) District. Alwar is a historical city and contains many old havelis (large houses with Mughal-era architecture). It is located 120 km from Jaipur, 430 km from Jodhpur 349 km from Bikaner, and 175 km from Delhi.

Modes of Transportation

Rail – Alwar- khairthal Junction railway station comes within the territory of the North Western Railway. Alwar-khairthal City is connected through a broad gauge line to Agra, Rewari, Delhi, Bharatpur, Mathura, Vrindavan, Dausa, Jaipur, Ajmer, Byawar, Pali, Sirohi, Udaipur and Dungarpur.
Alwar-khairthal – Kotputli- Behror track is under construction. A section of 20 km has been completed up to Delhi.
Road – Bansur, Alwar is well connected by roads from all the major cities of Rajasthan and nearby states. A four-lane national highway NH-48 passes through the of the Bansur. NH-48 connects Sikar with Jaipur, Delhi, Ajmer, Byawar, Pali, Sirohi, Chhitorgargh, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner. The western freight corridor will also pass through Sikar, as a main project of the central government. Kotputali Kuchaman Mega Highway also passes through Sikar.

Air – The nearest airport to Alwar City is Jaipur International Airport, which operates daily flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Udaipur, Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat. A new airport is proposed at Shahpura (a town in Jaipur district) that is very close to Alwar. A small air strip at Tarpura village is also available for the landing of small private planes against payment.
